E. coli found in minced meat in Kostanay region On October 27, specialists of the National Center for Expertise in Kostanay region, during a routine inspection of food safety and quality in the cities of Lisakovsk and Rudny, discovered pathogenic microorganisms in minced chicken and minced turkey. In both meat products, the presence of bacteria of the Escherichia coli group was detected - in 0.0001 grams.

However, according to the safety standards adopted on the territory of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, even this minimal presence of traces of these bacteria is not allowed due to the potential danger of infection and harm to human health. The producer of minced turkey is the Kazakhstani enterprise IP "Khachaturian" registered in Almaty. In turn, minced chicken was produced by Chamzinskaya Poultry Farm JSC, Russia.

We remind you that most types of E. coli are safe, some types are even beneficial for the normal functioning of the human gastrointestinal tract. However, other strains of the bacteria can cause food poisoning and prolonged diarrhea. Some species are especially dangerous. So, the most powerful strain of Escherichia coli - O157:H7, if left untreated, can provoke acute renal failure.
